IN-THE-HOLE LONGHOLE DRILL RIGS

Sandvik in-the-hole (ITH) longhole drills are capable of drilling ø89-216 mm holes up to 100 meters in length using 3” to 8” ITH hammers in mechanized and automated underground mining operations. The target of these Sandvik longhole drills is to maximize ore recovery and minimize dilution with drilling of production or service support holes accurately and according to the plan. They can also be fitted with a V30 head for ø762 mm reaming in service support, or reaming up to ø445 mm holes with 12” hammers in rapid raising.

Sandvik ITH drills are mounted on tracked or articulated carriers and equipped with Sandvik rotation heads, drilling modules, longhole booms and FOPS/ROPS certified operator stations for maximum performance, safety, reliability and total drilling economy. Versatility is ensured through various feed and carousel configurations, making the units suitable for most mining methods and various drilling applications. Instrumentation and data drilling with various automation options allow maximum performance with the highest levels of drilling accuracy.

Sandvik DU412i is a highly versatile and compact in-the-hole (ITH) longhole drill fitted with an onboard booster and designed for underground mining in 3.2 x 3.2 m or larger production drifts.

Sandvik DU411 is a center-articulated, carrier-mounted in-the-hole (ITH) drill rig that is ideal for highly accurate production drilling, as well as drilling service holes and slot raises. The actual drill units are ITH hammers powered by on-board, high-pressure screw boosters. This ITH drill rig can drill holes with a diameter of 89 to 216 millimeters (3 ½ to 8 ½ inches), or it can be configured for 762-millimeter (30 inch) slot raises.

Sandvik DU311 is a center-articulated, carrier-mounted in-the-hole (ITH) drill rig designed for high mobility and utility in underground mining. This compact machine was developed with an on-board reciprocating booster for the productive drilling of holes with a diameter of 89 to 216 millimeters (3 1/2 to 8 1/2 inches). It can also be configured for 762-millimeter (30-inch) slot raises.​

Sandvik DU311-TK is a versatile, compact and track mounted ITH longhole drill fitted with an onboard booster and designed for underground mining in 4 x 4 m or larger production drifts.

It can also be used for reaming up to Ø445 mm (17½”) holes in rapid raising using 8” to 12” hammers.

Sandvik DU311-TVK is a versatile, compact and track mounted ITH longhole drill fitted with an onboard booster and designed for underground mining in 4 x 4 m or larger production drifts.

It can be used with the V-30 reaming head in Ø762 mm (30”) raise boring for slot or ventilation raises, ore passes, waste chutes or service holes.

 

DU211-T Tracked in-the-hole production drill rig

Sandvik DU211-T is a track-mounted, in-the-hole (ITH) drill rig with a minimum width of 1.2 meters (48 inches). This drill rig for underground drilling is designed to carry ITH hammers powered with compressed air. Sandvik DU211-T is a robust machine for drilling holes with a diameter of 89 to 216 millimeters (3 ½ to 8 ½ inches) and for reaming up to 444 millimeters (17 ½ inches).

 

Boosters & Compressors

Compressed air is required for powering the hammers on the ITH longhole drills.

Since all the air required by ITH hammers can not be produced onboard the drill units, portable boosters and compressors allow the delivery of the required air in the mine. Our ITH boosters & compressors series provides air for  3” to 8” ITH hammers and V–30 reaming heads at wide altitude level.

Built with robust frames and accessible components, the range is meant for ease of maintenance and reduced down time.

 

Pipe handlers

Mechanized pipe handling improves product safety and reduces operator fatigue. Standard ITH carousels allow mechanized pipe handling when hole length is up to 60 m.

The time spent in handling and storing the drill pipes is reduced , ensuring increased drilling capacity and productivity.

 

Reaming equipment

The versatility of ITH drilling allows the use of the equipment in slot raising. The V-30 slot raising is a method similar to raise boring and the method uses two ITH hammers mounted on a rigid reaming head body.
